Joint military exercise between India and United Kingdom Ajeya Warrior 2020 reached in conclusion

Ajeya : Military exercise  










The Ministry of Defence (MoD) proclaimed in a press communication today that Exercise Ajeya Warrior 2020, a joint military training exercise between India and United Kingdom, has culminated at West Down Camp,Satisbury Plains Training Area, UK. The commander of UK 7 infantry, Brigadier Tom Bewick and Brigadier Gavin, UK's Defence Attache in India attended the closing ceremony.

Purpose

This was the 5th edition of the exercise that aims to enhance interoperability between armies of India and UK. This exercise was aimed to operate company level joint training with an emphasis on counter terrorist operations in Urban and Semi urban areas.

Point to be noted

  • As part of the exercise lectures,demonstrations and drills related to counter insurgency and counter terrorist operations were ingeminated and evolved jointly
  • The MoD stated that the highlight of the exercise was the bonhomie and camaraderie displayed by the troop,thereby ensuring integration and achievement of interoperability at all levels.
  • Both countries shared their experiences earned during various counter insurgency and counter terrorist operations in the past.
  • Ajeya Warrior 2020 can be termed as the shining example of long standing strategic ties between India and United Kingdom.
  • Around 120 soldiers each from the two armies participated in the exercise.
