Malnutrition-free India: Lok Sabha speaker commences Suposhit Maa Abhiyan in Kota

Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla commenced the "Suposhit Maa Abhiyan" with the motive to generate a malnutrition-free India at the Bhamashah Mandi campus in Kota. Smriti Irani, Woman and Child Development Minister, tended over the event. In the first phase of the campaign, 1000 kits of 17 kg balanced diet each were provided to 1000 pregnant women.

Details about the Suposhit Maa Abhiyan

Suposhit Maa Abhiyan is a campaign to perpetuate the health of our future generations. This type of programme have to be made a mass movement to fulfill dreams of 130 crore Indians. Consequence to the plan, 1000 women will be given food for 1 month for 12 months. The health of the child, including medical examination, blood, medicine, delivery will be taken care of. The campaign will not only look after pregnant women but also new born babies will be part of this scheme. 

Conveniences

Suposhit Maa Abhiyan will be include one pregnant woman from a family. The Suposhit will also ensure new born's health. Nutrition kit given per month for 9 months will be 17 kg. This will include wheat, gram, maize, and millet flour, jaggery, oatmeal, lentils, large soyabean, ghee, groundnut, roasted gram, dates and rice etc.
