India ranks 35 th in Worldwide Education for the Future Index 2019

The Economist Intelligence Unit has released the Worldwide Education for the Future Index (WEFFI) 2019. India has been ranked 35 th on the overall index in 2019 with a total score of 53.

About the WEFFI

The index evaluates countries based on their abilities to prepare students with skill based education. This has ranked countries based on three pillars namely Environment, Teaching Environment, and Overall Economic Environment. The theme of the index is "From Policy to Practice". The WEFFI report and index were authorized by the Yidan Prize Foundation.

Rank of other countries in WEFFI

Finland has been ranked at the top of the index. It was followed by Sweden at the second position and New Zealand at third position.

The bottom three countries in WEFFI were Kenya (48th), Nigeria (49th), and the Democratic Republic of Congo (50th).

About India's scoring point

India scored 53 based on those three categories. In Policy Environment India scored 56.3, in Teaching Environment India scored 52.2 and in Overall Economic Environment 32.2. In 2018, India scored 41.2 and confirmed 40th rank.
