MILAN exercise by Indian Navy under the theme-' Synergy across the seas'

MILAN 2020

Indian Navy will be hosting Milan 2020. It includes a border array of exercise at sea in multinational grouping with seamanship drills, simulation of complex operational scenarios, tactical maneuvers and others. The Milan of biennial exercise was first commenced in 1995.

Key Points

• Milan 2020 be will conducted at Visakhapatnam, ‘the city of destiny’ of Andhra Pradesh during March. 2020 .

• It had been organized in Andaman and Nicobar Command ( ANC) until last year, for the first time it is to be conducted on mainland at Eastern Naval Command( ENC).

• The event will witness the participation of 41 Nations. Apart from this a large number of ships, senior dignitaries are also expected to take part in various functions and visit naval facilities during Milan 2020.

• Theme of the series is ‘Synergy across the seas.’

• Present Naval Chief,  Admiral Karambir Singh have shown great enthusiasm to make it a grand success.

• Navy Day is celebrated on 4th December every year.
