On 13^th February 2020, INS Shivaji was awarded with the president’s colours award . This is a very prestigious award. It was presented by the president of India , Ramnath Kovind.  INS Shivaji has completed its 75 years of glorious service to the nation. 

Discussion

This naval station i.e. INS Shivaji is situated at lonavala near Bhushi Dam. This ancient naval station was established in 1945 . This station was marked as HMIS( Her Majesty’s Indian Ship). This station provides training to personnel from various army establishment of India. The personnel from Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy and also from the foreign naval stations get trained from this majestic station.  From the very beginning,  this   institution is complying its moto  - Karmashu Kaushalam which means- Sikll at work.

History Behind

 Last years president colors award was given to the “ Indian naval academy” .  Naval Engineering college harbours at INS Shivaji . This Engineering colleges teaches to combat the marine perils . It provides utmost skill to modernize the naval equipments and ideas to the trainees of Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy officials.  The three premier institutions at INS Shivaji namely Centre of Excellence, Center of marine engineering , Biological and Chemical defence school.
